Have a Consistent Skincare Routine

Maintaining healthy skin involves following a consistent skincare routine and products that match your skin type and incorporating both morning and evening routines. I avoid jumping from one skin care product to the other. Sticking with a consistent skincare routine and products can help your skin adjust and show better results. When you constantly switch products, it can sometimes irritate the skin and disturb its natural balance.

Stay Hydrated

Staying hydrated is essential for healthy skin. Water keeps the skin plump and glowing. Without enough hydration, our skin could become dry, and we don’t want to, do we? Drink water to stay hydrated; if you don’t like drinking water, there are different ways to make it enjoyable.

Protect your Skin from the Sun

Sunscreen is important to protect the skin from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays. If you don’t have one, now is a good time to get yours. You should apply sunscreen with SPF 30+, especially if swimming or sweating. Try to avoid the sun between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. This could be tricky as we all have different lifestyles/routines, so if you can’t seek shade during this period, ensure you always wear your sunscreen.

Gentle Skin Care Rituals

Once you have a consistent skincare routine, some practices to cultivate and maintain include having shorter baths with warm water (avoid hot water), using mild cleansers, shaving carefully, patting the skin dry, and moisturizing it.

Eat Healthy

We are what we eat. So, having a balanced diet rich in vegetables, fruits, proteins, and healthy fats while avoiding processed foods and excessive sugars can significantly benefit the skin health and overall well-being.

Manage Stress

Stress, if not appropriately managed, can impact our health, and the skin is not left out. We must reduce stress, get enough sleep, and engage in regular physical activity, which can significantly benefit our overall well-being and skin health.

On a lighter note

They say prevention is better than cure, so we must maintain our overall skin health through consistent daily habits and healthy lifestyle choices. Healthy skin is vital not just for appearance but also for our overall health.
