How Do I Build My Makeup Kit? Here’s all you need

Wondering how to build your makeup kit? Building a makeup kit can be quite a task, especially for a beginner; from what makeup products to buy or the price.  But first, let’s look at your skin.

Our skin needs proper care and, you can start with a simple skincare routine. You also have to know your skin type so that you can get the right products for your skin. It’s good to lay a proper foundation for yourself in terms of your skincare; which will make you confident with or without makeup on.

What makeup do I need?

You need essential makeup items to start your makeup journey. There are affordable or high-end makeup kits for beginners, you have got to choose based on your budget.

To Build Your Makeup Kit? Here’s all you need as a beginner

This is a complete makeup kit list with recommendations for you; I hope it helps make the right decision. You will find some of the best and most affordable makeup brands for beginners.

FACE

  • Moisturiser and Primer

It is an important part of a skincare routine, so you don’t want to skip that part for anything. Moisturiser helps maintain healthy skin.

Primer on the other hand is like a shield between your skin and make-up. It’s totally up to you if you want to use a primer but it is recommended especially for oily skin as it will give a matte look. I don’t use a primer for my everyday look as I only use it when I have an event and I don’t want to worry about my makeup getting all smudged with oil.

  • Concealer and Foundation

Concealer is applied to specific areas on the face, such as dark circles, scars, and blemishes. It is thick and as the name implies, it is used to conceal and enhance the structure of the face.

Foundation can be applied all over the face for perfecting the skin tone. It is light and acts as a base for your powder. The foundation is mostly applied first, followed by the concealer.

Try this – Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation

  • Blush and Highlighter

Blush adds colour to the cheeks while the highlighter is used to brighten a specific part of the skin. It is often used when contouring to enhance or define the structure of the face.

EYES

  • Eyebrow pencils and Pomade are used to fill and define the eyebrows. It brings out the appearance of the eyes. There are different shades; all you have to do is pick the shade that suits you.
  • Eye shadow Palette

Eye shadow elevates the eye area; It draws attention to the eye and makes it pop. It comes in different colors and textures.

  • Eyeliner

There are different types of eyeliners but I prefer the pencil eyeliner.

  • Mascara

Mascara enhances the eyelashes; it thickens, adds volume, and strengthens the lashes.

Try this – Mary Kay oil-free eye makeup remover

LIP

  • Nude and Red Lipstick

These are must-haves in your make-up bag. If you want to go for a subtle look, go for the nude lipstick and if you prefer a bold look, then go for red. You can explore other colors of lipstick.

  • Lip gloss/Oil

For an everyday look, you can never go wrong with a lip gloss or lip oil. It moisturizes and hydrates the lips. You can wear it alone or use it as a base before applying your lipstick.

  • Lip liner/Lip Pencil

It’s used to line the edges of the lips or fill the lips before applying lipsticks or lip gloss.

APPLICATOR

  • Brushes and Sponges

These are essential make-up tools. Brushes are used to apply eye shadows and powders, while sponges are used to blend foundation or concealer to create a flawless look.

  • Cotton buds/Q-tips

This will come in handy if you have applied too much makeup, and need to reduce it.

What say you?
